Company History

  • 1960s - formed in Surrey as a manufacturer of special electro-optical tubes for university and research scientists (first photograph)
  • 1970s - relocated to St.Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex (second photograph)
  • 1980s - In addition to its electro-optical products ITL developed a catalogue range of vacuum components including glass to metal seals, viewports, feedthroughs, ionisation gauge heads and flange fittings.
  • 1990s - developed key accounts, serving world leading vacuum equipment suppliers. The company grew rapidly driven by strong semiconductor demand. Received Virgin Fastrack 100 and Sussex Business awards. Relocated to Menzies Road, St.Leonards-on-Sea (photograph below). Acquired by Ferraris Group Plc.
  • 2006 - MDC Vacuum Products LLC, a leading US vacuum product manufacturer and former client of ITL, purchased the trading business and assets of ITL. New owner, MDC, is a manufacturer of high quality vacuum instrumentation for vacuum science and technology with headquarters based in California.
